Ducts

• Description: A duct has the function of transporting a gaseous fluid, normally employed in extraction, injection and gas-washing systems.

• Design ranges: Ducts and accessories to be used in a system are selected on the basis of the following design characteristics:

     a. Total flow

     b. Fluid to be handled

     c. Concentration of the contaminant

     d. Temperature

     e. Pressure

     f. Distance from the furthest point of extraction.

The fluid will determine the type of material to be used to conduct it, guaranteeing the chemical resistance of the ducts.

The dimensioning and construction thicknesses are governed under the standards of Industrial Ventilation, HVAC, NBS PS 15-69 and for its design a set of diameters along the length of the heads is taken into consideration to ensure the same speed of uptake at all points of extraction, butterfly valves are also normally used to help the balancing of the system, in addition we also offer materials in compliance with ATEX regulations in different classes.

The materials used in the chemical industry for the construction of pipelines are:

  • Stainless steel
  • Galvanized steel
  • FRP
  • PP
  • PPs
  • PPs - el
  • PVC
  • PVDF
  • E-CTFE
  • PFA

If you have any doubt, if you want a recommendation or have a specific problem, contact the Technical Department of Lapsolite.

• Applications: Industrial plants (metallurgical, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, etc.) shopping centers, hospitals.

• Benefits:

     a. Adequate chemical resistance.

     b. Light and easy to install.

     c. Low maintenance cost.
