Cyclones

1. Description: Cyclones are mechanical stationary equipment that allow for the separation of solids particles suspended in a carrier gas by way of centrifugal force.

2. Ranges of design: to provide the best design and arrangement of a cyclone, it is necessary to know the size of particles to be removed, number of particles present in the gas, if particles have abrasive properties and finally the gas temperature, so that with these data the following equipments can be provided:

     a) High efficiency cyclones.

     b) Low resistance cyclones.

The flows of cyclones offered by Lapsolite are from 1,000 to 100,000 m3/h.

3. Applications: There is a broad range in the industry (chemical, metallurgical, petrochemical, textile, food, mining, etc.).

4. Benefits:

     a) As there are no moving parts, they are easy to maintain and have low operating costs.

     b) They allow separation even under drastic conditions of temperature and pressure.

     c) Various materials of construction (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, thermoplastic, teflon, epoxy resin, titanium, etc.).

     d) Relatively small area required for installation.
